HANDS ON LAB - CYBER THREAT IDENTIFICATION, PREVENTION & INVESTIGATION

WORKSHOP ABSTRACT

This hands-on-lab provides exercise for students to learn real time scenario of offensive and defensive aspects of the Cyber Space. The demonstration includes Checkpoint SandBlast modules such as Threat Emulation, Anti-Bot, Forensics, Anti-Ransomware, Anti-Exploit and industry-leading zero-day protections to prevent advanced attacks against endpoints and web browsers. The log management module shall provides the details about how to monitor cyber security event logs effectively and identify the suspicious events.

COURSE CONTENT

1. Network and Threat Prevention

1. Threat Emulation inspection of a mail attachment.
2. Threat Emulation and Threat Extraction inspection of a malicious document attached in an email.
3. Threat Emulation inspection of a direct link to a file inside an email.
4. Web extraction through the GW without any client installation that is seamless to the user.

2. Endpoint and Browser Extension

1. Anti-Phishing scenario using zero-phishing technology.
2. Web download protection scenario using browser extension.
3. Forensics Analysis scenario using Anti-Bot triggered by lateral movement.
4. Anti-Ransomware and Anti Exploit scenario using drive-by exploit on IE.
